Coffee and cigarettes

This is a quality film but the title refers to mornings spent in the outdoor cafe opposite the local gym. Took a while to find this place but it's been happy days ever since.

As an aside i saw "La vida secreta de las palabras", the secret life of words, last night. Fantastic film, don't read about, go and see it. Beautifully shot, great script and very powerful - enjoy.

Menos drogas mas sexo?

Sex in the City. Great tv show but not so clever when your the hapless man in a Buenos Aires version. My profesoras having tortured me with the spanish language for a couple of hours decided to help explain the British plight. Apparently, as a nation we take far too many drugs, both legal and illegal, which results in having alot less sex. Interesting theory. A few retorts sprang to mind:

1 Seeing as i've spent the last month, relatively, living like a monk (drug wise) and have got nowhere i'm loathe to forgo the one cervesa of the day in the off chance their right.

2 Rolling Stones, didn't seem to hinder them too much.

3 It's bollocks.

4 Xmas is coming and they are dreaming if they think i'm......

Raton

Raton, Spanish for mouse, is quite clearly a cat. Bizarre name, even wierder cat. Anyways the little git woke me up this morning and was fortunate not to be learning sky diving without a parachute (we're five floors up).

Domingo

World food fair but not as we know it. Probably about 150 odd stalls punting various ethnic delights. A few hours comfortably passed sampling the aforementioned whilst necking german beer.

However, there was a slight twist. Pretty much all these stalls where Argies in disguise. I think the only stalls actually from their countries where the South American ones. Hence great Mexican tacos, quality caiprihnas and Bolivain empanadas.

The Irish stall decided to punt Irish coffee, fair enough, excepting it was 30 degrees, or maybe they were just entering into the spirit of taking the piss out of their intelligence - who knows?

Greek kebab - ummm - no never seen one like that.
Bratwurzt and sauerkraut - a very good impression of a frankfurter.
Lebanese - baclava - nope definitely not.

Good time was had, laughed alot and at the end the Bolivians decided to party.

Plaza Italia

This walking business can be seriously taxing. Thankfully, half way to town there's a pleasant little Plaza with some bizarre castle type structure in the middle. A tasty little spot to rest one's weary feet, admire the natives, have a drink, a fag and relax.

Not much else to report, Spanish is still rubbish, food is still gorgeous, women moreso and the weather forecast for the week would upset you.
